How it works
The CF 8 comes standard with a stylish porcelain pedestal, that connects to a composting container located below floor level.
At Green Loo we value honesty and being upfront with our customers: maintenance for every continuous composting toilet in the market will involve raking the waste pile – while a sloped design is helpful, unfortunately waste doesn’t have legs to move on its own!
With the CF 8, simply rake the compost pile every 3 months or so. All composting happens inside the container, and you remove only fully broken down compost from the front of the unit, every 3 months or when necessary.
A cupful of carbon rich covering material is added after each solid deposit which ensures the correct carbon/nitrogen balance for efficient composting.
Waste turns into nutrient-rich compost that can be reused in gardens or safely disposed of.
Green Loo’s CF 8 smart construction eliminates the need for internal walls, adding valuable usable space to the waste container, resulting in extra capacity.
The vent system promotes optimal airflow, bringing in oxygen needed for aerobic composting. It keeps the toilet free of odours and reduces moisture.
A false floor ensures that excess liquids drain out into a small gravel pit and allows moisture to be drawn back into the pile, if need be.
Composting toilets don’t need mixing. The simple addition of some bulking agent, microbes and enzymes is all you need.

The CF Systems Explained
The Cultus Fulcrum system is based on a continuous composting process in one single container. As the organic material decomposes it will reduce in volume by up to 80%.
The compost pile is therefore always reducing whilst new material is being introduced from the back of the system. The finished compost is removed from the front of the container.
The CF Name Explained
Both words are Latin. Cultus means toilet, and Fulcrum is a single point – so a toilet that has a single chamber. An alternative interpretation is Cultus, meaning culture or society, and Fulcrum being a turning point. So this is also an expression how we at Green Loo are helping society in this pivotal period of change. Or as we say: Save the world sitting down® (& every bit helps).
